MCSA is dedicated to providing quality training for its members and the general public. All of our instructors are volunteers which allow us to keep our class fees low. The instructors encourage taking training whether you have been shooting your whole life or are a neophyte. Our passion for the sport shines through as we share our knowledge of subject at hand. All of our instructors are NRA Certified with the exception of the Hunters Education Program. Their training program is under the jurisdiction of the Washington Department of Fish & Wildlife.

Presents an NRA approved First Steps Pistol Course

 

When:         Saturday March 3 / May 5 / July 7 / October 6

                    W. 521 Business Park Road , Shelton   ( Shelton Airport on Hwy 101)

Time:           10:00 a.m.  to 3:00 p.m.

 

YOU MUST BE LEGALLY ABLE TO POSSESS A FIREARM TO ATTEND

 

Course Description: This four hour course includes classroom and range time learning to shoot a specific pistol action type. Students will learn the NRA’s rules for safe gun handling;  pistol parts and operation; ammunition; shooting fundamentals; cleaning the pistol; and continued opportunities for skill development.. 

    

Equipment required: .  You must bring wrap around safety glasses, ear/hearing protection (ear muff type, please no ear buds), brimmed hat (such as a ball cap).

We will start our range session with .22 caliber semi-automatic handguns. (we provide the guns and ammunition).  If you have your own firearm, you may bring it, unloaded and in a box or bag.  Please also bring 50 rounds of appropriate factory ammunition for your firearm.  If you have the owner’s manual for your firearm it may be helpful to bring it with your firearm.  You may want to bring snacks/drinks with you.

     You will leave knowing how to safely operate your own firearm.  Please do not go out and purchase a firearm for this class.  There will be discussion about purchasing a firearm.       

 

We welcome children 7 years of age or above, but a parent must be present for the entire class.

 

Register early as we can only accept 10 participants for each class.
